Is there anyone here, that will be at the WAHS meeting on Friday night, that would be willing to sex my hatchlings?
I have 2 womas & 1 SWCP, they are nearly 7 months old & all weigh about 50-55g.
Do you reckon they are old enough to sex yet?
I also wouldn't mind a 2nd opinion on my 3yr old SWCP sex. I have had her looked at a couple of times by the same person, & they think she is female, but said it was a little hard to tell, it wasn't obvious one way or the other, so I was just curious if someone else might have a better idea.
I won't bring them if no one is willing, cause it's a 2.5hr drive to get to a meeting.

Hi, Zepp.

Unless you get permission from DEC (highly unlikely) then you can't bring them in - it's against the rules on your licence.

What area do you live? I suspect some site member living nearby would be willing to drop in and do it for you. But make sure he/she knows what they are doing or you could end up with sterilised snakes.

I thought that might be the case but I live in Wyalkatchem, so I don't think anyone wants to pop in, I guess I'll have to rethink what to do.

Part of the licence conditions are that you can only transport them to a dealer or a vet. If there is a dealer present at the meeting and is willing to do it them technically you aren't breaching them as you are taking it to a dealer. The licence conditions don't state you have to take it to the dealers house or business. Give DEC a call if you line a dealer up that will be there and ask, all they can say is no. Either that call up a dealer and make a trip in to perth to there business or house and get them sexed instead of going for the meeting just go to get them sexed and maybe go to the meeting afterwards.

You can give visually sexing them a crack too, read the info on Dave's site.

True, hadn't thought of that. Not sure if Gary (or Tim Hyndeman, vet) is going, but worth a try.

Well I managed to catch up with Gary last night & it turns out my 3yr old female swcp is male, whoops!!
Lucky my new carpet turns out to be a girl & the womas are both boys.
