happiness is a pale stimo
« on: March 26, 2012, 07:09:42 PM »
Just thought I would post a photo of my female stimo "tart" with her latest clutch - hatched 9 out of 12 eggs and babies doing pretty well - this is her third consecutive year as a breeder and hasnt let me down yet.  Soon as babies hatch I give her a couple of adult mice and within a couple of months she has good condition on and is back with her big male - trying to get that pale colouration in one of her male hatchlings but her first two clutches have been all females - third time lucky I hope  chris

That's a good looking Stimson and I don't often say that about stimsons.

thanks for the comments - she has a really great temperament and loves being handled - even when she is sitting on eggs she doesnt react to being disturbed - have kept 2 progeny from the first hatching and one from last years - all turned out to be female -  am hoping one of the paler ones from this years clutch is a male. Will wait until about 6 mths old and then sex them to see what comes from this years offspring. will post some photos of this years hatchlings

thanks Alan  her hatchlings are doing well at present - half are doing extremely well and the other half are fussy and am putting the work in - bought a pinkie pump and seems to work well but need to be extra careful when using it - definitely pick out the ones that probably wouldnt make it  as they are the fussy eaters  - had one eat the day after sloughing which was a real surprise  cheers chris
