I know someone that has just got their cat 3 licence.
He is looking for a SW Carpet Python, preferably a 3 month old hatchling.
If anyone has one they would like to part with, please let me know and I will put you in touch with him.

How much are you selling them for, and do you have a dealer to arrange transfer?

will have pics up soon but at first glance they looked similar to Winny's (i think it was). Mum's a coastal, and dad im not 100%, he might be a hybrid himself but he's a bit darker than the female.
I'll post pics of all of them soon

Its a rubbish photo of the male so ill get a better one soon, and the hatchies have lightened up a touch since these were taken. They were only a few weeks old then.

Tell you what trent if the hatchies turn out looking like the one's I got from the clutch when they were bred with the previous owner they'll be nice looking carpets. Hopefully they don't have the same temperment as on of the ones I have though, satanic is an understatement.

Really? The parents are mellow as, might be an age thing though
. Yeah nice looking animals, I saw one from the same clutch you got yours from and it was very nice too. I have 2 from this clutch with a bit of a stripe down their back. Nothing to get excited about, but they look a bit different to the other normal patterns that all look kind of similar. I'll have to get a picture when they have their next shed. I'll be hard pressed to let any go
But it will get to the stage that I have to move a few on. Not enough big enclosures to keep em all
I think Jezz will have some nice ones in that clutch too. The female has really good colour.

More pics when they shed in the next week hopefully.
I was hoping WAHS would get a dealers licence and we would all be trading through WAHS then the money would be going back into the hobby.

I don't know what the outcome of WAHS getting a license was. But I do know it gets complicated trying to register a premises as the address for the dealers license. They couldn't use the Gould league, and it may be difficult to get someone to put their hand up as the dealer if WAHS was to use a private address. I looked into it briefly if I were to get my own and the hoops you have to jump through are a bit annoying. Namely listing your residence as a place of business. Once you do this it affects your insurance policies and it seems hard to get council approval.
If you had the money to challenge it in court I doubt the dealers license would hold up. For one it breaks the fair trade act of being able to get reasonable return for your products. You should be able to buy a python and sell it for the same price. But you cant because of the dealers fee. I can't think of another situation where you have to sell through a dealer. Native bird keepers don’t do it, you can sell cars, dogs, cats, chickens, houses without having to go through a dealer. Really there should be free transfer forms available from DEC to allow private keepers to transfer animals. Not sell, but transfer for free (if you get cash then so be it). I'll never get my head around why they want to restrict captive breeding and transfer of animals in the hobby. The other states have licensed reptiles and have no problem tracking stock by keepers putting other keepers license numbers on their returns when they transfer stock. Exactly as we do with a dealers license number... Also there are not enough licensed dealers to cater for the 4,500 licensed keepers that M.S mentioned there are the other day... As it stands Pet City charge you $25 to take the animal, then $25 to give the animal. So $50 per animal transferred from one person to another. I think Steve at Tropical has stopped his dealers license? I think he was more reasonable.
I guess if you are to keep the dealers they should at least abolish having to get council permission for your dealers license. If you had one you'd be smarter to deliver animals to the persons door. So they don’t end up robbing you. Also I believe its a license condition to take animals to the person? Or maybe people selling a litter of kittens or puppies should have to get a dealers license to sell them from home?

I was asked by a local pet store down this way if I would apply for my dealers licence but I tell people I have a closed collection. I don't want people knowing what I keep at my home because that is my personal business.
It is a stupid system and the only reasoning I can come up with is that if we could freely transfer between keepers the amount of paperwork for DEC to keep on top of would go up and be more than they can manage.

The paper work should actually reduce. In Vic we just had transfers on our annual returns. Same as we do now when we buy an animal. Only difference is instead of a dealers number you put down the other keepers number.
It is just a money making scam from dec to make people pay $1000 for a dealers license.
