Yeah your right stu and wow if u can't work out that a snake needs a hide on your own maybe not only shouldn't u be able to have a snake maybe someone should be monitoring if they are also able to breathe on there own.experience does come with learning but in the same note there is ample books, web, forum information by the bucket load.At the end of the day is it people to blame or do you palm on some of the blame to DEC (could be a new topic here) I mean u fill out a few questions and pay a fee then you are able to keep reptiles.I myself are very interested in snakes and actually enjoy read up on snake and learning as much as I can about them,so it was never just a noveltie purchasing a snake for me were I find that is the case for alot of reptile keepers out there.like I said I was not provided with any any information about reptiles wat so ever after withholding a licience and I think myself this needs to change.I would also like to see us being able to purchase some of the snakes that are availible to people in the east coast once a licience has been obtained for a reasonable time and you have proven your self to be competent and proven to do the right thing.Every snake we are aloud to obtain I have seen in the wild.I understand why were not aloud non native reptiles in our state but surely if contained And conteolled properly this shouldn't be a issue I'm sure there are going to be alot of views on this topic for and against plz share
